1. In compliance to DepEd Order no. 8 s. 2007, “Revised Implementing Guidelines on the Operation and Management of School Canteens in Public Elementary and Secondary Schools”, and DepEd Memorandum No. 13, s. 2017 “Policy and Guidelines on Healthy Food and Beverage Choices in Schools and in DepEd Offices”, the Health and Nutrition Unit will conduct monitoring of school canteens and other health related programs (WINS Program, School Clinic, National Drug Education Program, Tobacco Control Program, Gulayan sa Paaralan, School-Based Feeding Program, School Dental Health Care Program) starting on August 9, 2024.
2. The objective is to ensure that the school canteen is encouraging desirable healthy eating habits of learners and school personnel and also to provide guidance and technical assistance in the implementation of DepEd policies and guidelines in the school canteen management and other health related programs.
