For the information and guidance of the field, this Office reiterates the Department of
Health’s (DOH) public health advisory, as well as the DepEd Memorandum on Hand,
Foot, and Mouth Disease (HMFD) which is common in young children.

This is to ensure the safety of all learners amidst of an outbreak of this disease in several
towns in Batangas Province, particularly in San Pascual and Cuenca, where over 100 cases have been reported, prompting suspension of face-to-face classes in all public and
private schools from elementary to high school.

In this regard, it is highly encouraged to educate learners to practice preventive habits
such as frequent hand washing, and to strictly observe the health and safety protocols
such as wearing of face masks and proper respiratory etiquettes especially when sneezing and coughing to avoid the transmission of infection.

Enclosed are the DepEd Memorandum and the DOH Advisory (Annex A) for your
reference.

For immediate dissemination.
