The Department of Education through the issuance of DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2020 titled School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2020-2021 has set the opening of School Year (SY) 2020-2021 on August 24, 2020 although not necessarily by the traditional face-to-face learning in classroom.
As provided in the order particularly, Item V par. 13 of its implementing guidelines, the teachers shall start rendering service on June 01, 2020 upon completion of summer vacation on May 31, 2020 although the reporting for service need not necessarily be on a face to face basis. They will attend orientation and training activities on the utilization of the distance learning delivery modalities, prepare instructional materials, and plan the organization of classes in consideration of the learning delivery modalities to be employed. If skeleton (skeletal) workforce will still be the operative government guidelines by June 2020, DepEd shall issue appropriate alternative work arrangements guidelines to the field to comply with prevailing policy, and to ensure safe work environment.
To ensure that the personnel of DepEd Dasmariñas who spent their vacation in their respective provinces are able to return safely and conveniently in their place of residence in Dasmariñas City or any part of the Province of Cavite in preparation for official reporting for service on June 01, 2020, the Division Office formulated an on-line platform where teachers could obtain QR coded certifications of employment which they could present in checkpoints and other areas where they will be required to show proof of their place of work should their valid DepEd issued identification cards be considered insufficient or if the same is not available.
