The Department of Justice (DOJ) through the Office of Cybercrime issued on September 22, 2020 the attached Public Advisory on the Conduct of Online Classes Using Video Conferencing Services. The said advisory was issued to prevent commission of cybercrimes against children and to protect them from online abuse and harmful contents during online classes.

The advisory provided, among others, the different duties and responsibilities that school administrators (including teaching and non-teaching personnel), parents and the public in general should observe in the conduct of online classes and use of information and communication technology for education. The contact details of different government agencies in charge in the enforcement of cybercrime laws and investigation are also provided in the said advisory for the information and guidance of the public.

Accordingly, this Division adopts the advisory issued by the DOJ and directs all concerned officials and personnel to abide with the guidelines set thereon. It is also expected that parents and students are informed of these guidelines to ensure proper observance.

Compliance with and immediate dissemination of this memorandum are directed.
