Pursuant to Executive Order No. 29, s. 2017, the month of July is declared as the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) which shall be observed throughout the country during the whole month of July every year through the conduct of activities relative to building disaster resilience.

The central theme for the observance of the 2019 NDRM is “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”.

As part of the celebration, schools are expected to undertake relevant activities which emphasize Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) such as but not limited to the following:

a. Posting of National Disaster Resilience Month Poster (LED smart TV or Tarpapel);
b. Devoting time for class discussion on preparedness, mitigation and prevention during the rainy days;
c. Conduct symposium or forum on DRRM; and
d. Conduct of related activities to ensure heightened awareness, consciousness and mitigation among school administrators, teachers, personnel and students.

Accomplishment report shall be submitted through electronic mail on or before August 5, 2019 at miguel.melendres@deped.gov.ph following the format for subject title NDRM20I9<School Name>.

Furthermore, adherence to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 (Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task) shall be strictly observed.
