1. Relative to DepEd Memorandum No. 109, s. 2019, the Department of education (DepEd) will join all agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and sub-national levels in the celebration of the 30th National Statistics Month (NSM) with the theme, Data Innovation: Key to a Better Nation in October 2019. This is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 entitled Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month, and Memorandum Circular No. 2019-07 entitled Celebration of the 301 National Statistics Month (NSM) and 14th National Convention of Statistics(NCS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
2. The celebration aims to:
a. promote, enhance, and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and
b. elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
3. Enclosed herewith is the DepEd Memorandum No. 109 s. 2019.
4. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
