
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 837, s.1991 entitled “Declaring the month of November of every year as Library and Information Services Month,” the National Commission for Culture and the Arts- National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCCA- NCLIS) and the National Library of the Philippines led the 2018 Library and Information Services month celebration with the theme: “Ang Kulturang May Malasakit, sa Akiatan ay Makakamit.”

Through the management of school teacher-librarian/ library-in-charge and support of school heads, public elementary and secondary schools in the City of Dasmariñas conducted various activities relevant to this celebration such as LIS month advocacy through room-to-room and online campaign, storytelling, bookmark making, book fair, poster and slogan making, dramatic oral reading, simultaneous reading, cataloguing demonstration, film viewing, jingle and rap competition, book character costume parade, spoken word poetry, impromptu talk, doodle art, reading symposium, mini exhibit, spelling bee, reader’s theater, comical play, radio play, and dramatic choric.
