1. Relevant to DepEd OM-OUOPS-2024-09-08209 titled CELEBRATION OF THE GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY 2024, which is celebrated every 15th of October, the field is hereby informed that the theme for this year’s celebration is “Why are Clean Hands Still Important?”. This aims to raise awareness about the
significance of handwashing with soap as a simple yet effective means to prevent diseases and save lives.
2. In line with this, all schools are encouraged to participate in this celebration by
conducting related activities such as, but not limited to:
- Utilizing online and other social media platforms through active use posting, and sharing of the Global Handwashing Day 2024 campaign and advocacy materials in the school’s social media pages; and
- Conducting own relevant activities for learners and their families such as webinars, lectures, exhibits, etc.
3. In addition, all schools are enjoined to conduct simultaneous handwashing activity among learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents and other stakeholders on October 15, 2024.
