1. In support of DepEd’s thrust to strengthen foundational literacy, this Division will conduct the Training-Workshop on Storybook Writing and Illustration for Teachers: Enhancing Literacy and Creativity in the Classroom (Batch 2) on September 2-4, 2026, at Tagaytay Country Hotel, Tagaytay City. The training aims to equip educators with the skills to develop culturally relevant, engaging, and age-appropriate storybooks for Key Stage 1 (KS1) learners, complemented by appropriate illustrations to foster literacy and creativity. Enclosed with this memorandum are the List of Participants and the Program of Activities.

2. This workshop is designed to enhance teachers’ capacity to develop high-quality, contextualized learning and reading resources that address learners’ reading difficulty while fostering literacy, imagination, and creativity. It aims to ensure that instructional resources are responsive to the diverse learning needs of all learners.

3. Participation to this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and guidelines. Teachers are advised to coordinate schedules to ensure non-disruption of classes.

4. In addition, expenses incurred relative to participation including traveling to the venues may be charged against available local funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulation.
