1. In line with Division Memorandum No. 519, s. 2026, regarding the School-Based Mass Deworming Program for School Year 2026-2027, this Office announces that the National Deworming Program shall resume its implementation in all public schools in Dasmarifias City, in coordination with the Dasmarifias City Health Office (CHO) and concerned barangay health personnel.
2. The Department of Education, through the School Health and Nutrition Section, recognizes the importance of protecting and promoting the health and well-being of learners as an essential component of their academic success and overall development.
3. The conduct of the deworming activity shall be undertaken through a collaborative effort among the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), City Health Office nurses and midwives, and the DepEd School Health and Nutrition Section personnel, in coordination with the school heads and school clinic designates.
4. To ensure that learners participate in the deworming activity with the knowledge and permission of their parents or legal guardians, schools shall secure the required consent prior to the administration of the deworming medication. The submitted consent shall be confirmed through appropriate means of communication to ensure that permission was duly given for the learner to undergo deworming. No learner shall be administered deworming medication without duly accomplished and confirmed parental/guardian consent, subject to applicable DepEd and health protocols.
