The Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) will be offering the 2016 MTAP-DepED Saturday Mathematics Programs for regular Pupils/Students and for Talented Pupils/Students.
The program for regular pupils/students will be conducted on (6) Saturdays, 8:00 am. to 12 n.n. from July 30 to September 3, 2016. The sessions will be for pupils/students who belong from the 25th to 85th percentile of each grade/year from Grade I to Fourth Year. A written permit from the a parent is necessary.
The first program aims to:
1) provide the teachers and students the opportunity to explore Mathematics without the threat of test;
2) review the materials covered to enable pupils/students to do well in Mathematics this coming school year; and
3) prepare the grade VI pupils and Grade 10 students for entrance examinations for Grade 7, Junior High School (JHS) and Grade 11 Senior High School.
The program for mathematically talented pupils/students will be conducted (7) seven Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 n.n. from November 5 to December 10, 2016. The sessions will be for pupils/students who belong to the top 15th percentile. The school principal shall endorse the pupils/students who wish to participate upon the presentation of permit from the parent/guardian.
The second program aims to:
1) prepare the Grade 6 and Grade 10 learners for entrance examinations for Grade 7 JHS and Grade 11, SHS.
There will be a nominal fee of Two Hundred Pesos (PhP200.00) for the first program, and Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP250.00) for the second program to be paid on or before July 30, 2016 for regular program and October 29, 2016 for mathematically talented pupil/student.
