1. Relevant to Regional Memorandum No. 267, s. 2024 dated April 15, 2024, in recognition of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council CALABARZON Memorandum No. 20, s. 2024, the field is hereby informed on the onset of the warm and dry season.

2. In relation to this, schools, learning centers, and offices are enjoined to observe mechanisms to lessen the effects of the warm and dry season and ensure the health and well-being of learners and personnel. As lifted from the Division Heat Emergency Plan, the following activities are advised:

a. Ensure that classrooms are adequately ventilated;

b. Provide access to potable drinking water throughout school premises and encourage learners and teachers to bring water provision in tumblers or other appropriate containers. Drink plenty of water regularly. The body needs water to keep cool. Water is the safest liquid to drink during heat emergencies;

c. Create shaded areas in outdoor spaces where learners and teachers can seek refuge from the sun during breaks;

d. Consider adjusting schedules, if applicable, such as starting classes early and having shorter outdoor activities;

e. Wear lightweight and light-colored clothing as light colors will reflect the sun’s energy. Allow lighter clothing during hot weather, ensuring learners and teachers are comfortable inside the school;

f. Monitor weather forecasts and advisories from concerned government agencies and take appropriate measures based on the severity of the conditions;
