1. Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 33, s. 2008 titled “Responding to the threats of Climate Change and Global Warming Through Massive, Intensive and Sustained Tree-Planting, Tree-Growing and Tree-Caring Program” and Proclamation No. 643 dated June 9, 2004 titled ” Amending Proclamation 396 dated June 2, 2003, entitled Enjoying the Active Participation of all Government Agencies, including Government- Owned and Controlled Corporations, Private Sector, Schools, Civil Society Groups and the Citizenry in Tree planting Activity and Declaring June 25, 2003 as Philippines Arbor Day” ,hereby informs the field on the celebration of 2022 Philippine Arbor Day on June 25, 2022. All public and private schools are expected to support and initiate tree/ornamental planting, growing and caring activities in school and other forms of relevant activities.

2. Trees and plants serve as the lungs of our planet. They help reduce global warming by sequestering million tons of carbon per year. They also provide cooling shade, block cold winds, attracts birds and wildlife, purify our air, prevent soil erosion, clean our water, and add grace and beauty to our schools and communities.

3. In view of the importance of this undertaking, all public and private elementary and secondary schools through the leadership of the Youth for Environment in Schools- Organization (YES-O) Advisers and School Inside a Garden (SIGA) Coordinators are expected to conduct the following activities in celebration of Philippine Arbor Day:
