Bayanihan sa paaralan – para sa kabataan, para sa bayan. Time and again, the Filipino spirit of bayanihan proves to be the key to accessible and quality education for all. Taking part in the bayanihan movement in Dasmariñas City, more than 500 Brigada Eskwela volunteers and community stakeholders gathered at The Tent, Dasmariñas Integrated High School for the 2019 Brigada Eskwela Division Kick-Off Caravan and Volunteers’ Day, May 20.

In a festive celebration of the annual National Schools Maintenance Week attended by Division Office personnel, school heads, ASP and DRRM coordinators, PTA officers, LGU officials, and private sector partners, DepEd Dasmariñas highlighted the value of partnerships in the education sector. With the theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, Brigada Eskwela 2019 focuses on the sustained efforts of creating learning environments that deliver quality education to all learners, apart from the physical cleaning and beautification of school facilities.

Supporting the delivery of quality education, the Division Office launched programs on reading, literacy, health and hygiene in public schools which are supported by partners from the local government and the private sector. “It takes a community of supporters who believe in the cause of education to deliver quality education and bring positive change in our schools and learning centers,” said Mr. Christopher Diaz, Schools Division Superintendent. He acknowledged the support of the City Government of Dasmariñas and partner companies Grolier International, Aspen Philippines (Kwell), Human Nature, City Savings Bank and One Network Bank given to Brigada Eskwela and other DepEd programs.

One of the highlights of the Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off is the distribution of bags and school supplies to Kindergarten pupils, a project spearheaded by Dasmariñas City Mayor Hon. Atty. Elpidio Barzaga, Jr, along with City Councilor for the Committee on Education Hon. Aquino Garcia. The project extends support all 13,000 kindergarten learners enrolled in public schools in Dasmariñas City.

Brigada Eskwela is implemented in 43 public elementary and secondary schools in Dasmariñas City from May 20 to 25. Division Brigada Eskwela activities are led by the Social Mobilization and Networking Section of the School Governance and Operations Division.
