Gathering more than 800 high school students, parents, teachers, school heads, LGU representatives, CSDO personnel and health partners, the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas successfully launched the Oplan Kalusugan sa Department of Education (OK sa DepEd) program on July 19-20, 2018 at Francisco E. Barzaga Integrated High School.

OK sa DepEd is a convergence of the health programs implemented by the Department of Education. This nationwide health education campaign aims to increase the students’ awareness and generate stakeholders’ support for DepEd’s major school health programs namely the School Based Feeding Program (SBFP), the National Drug Education Program (NDEP), the Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in School (WinS), and the Medical, Dental, and Nursing Services of DepEd.

Headed by the Health and Nutrition Unit of the Schools Governance and Operations Division, the OK sa DepEd program was launched in the Division through the conduct of the two-day health education fair. Present in the opening program are SDS Manuela S. Tolentino, ASDS Lualhati O. Cadavedo, CID Chief Gemma G. Cortez, SGOD Chief Emmanuel L. Resurreccion, City Councilor Dr. Tagumpay Tapawan, and other guests.

The health education fair showcased an exhibit of the different health program on the first day and a speakers forum on the second day. The event was supported by the Division’s health partners: The City Government of Dasmariñas, the Philippine Dental Association Cavite Chapter, DOH Treatment Rehabilitation Center, the Philippine Red Cross, Youthopia, Kwell, Dr. S. Wong’s Sulfur Soap, and Casino Ethyl Alcohol.
