In an effort to strengthen the capacity of schools in implementing the Adopt-a-School Program and provide technical assistance to school heads and coordinators, the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit of the Schools Governance and Operations Division of the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas conducted the “Division Capacity Building Seminar For School Heads, Adopt-A-School Coordinators, And School Property Custodians” on October 23, 2015 at Dasmarinas National High School Library. Representatives from all 28 public elementary and 11 public secondary schools attended the said training.

This training is an echo session of the National Capacity Building Seminar-Workshop for Adopt-A-School Regional and Division Coordinators and Supply Officers held on August 25-27 at Hotel St. Ellis, Legazpi City.

The training was delivered and facilitated by resource speakers from the Division Office, with the first speaker, Mr. Vic Villador, Senior Education Program Specialist for School-based Monitoring and Evaluation, who talked about the overview of the Adopt-a-School Program. It was followed by a discussion on the roles and responsibilities of an ASP Coordinator and partnerships for K to 12 program, which was delivered by Ms. Anne Katherine Cortez, Education Program Specialist for Social Mobilization and Networking and Division ASP Coordinator.

For the afternoon session, three speakers namely Mr. Vic Villador, Mr. Ryan Ashley Rollan, Division Supply Officer, and Atty. Rhina Elicano, Division Legal Officer, shared on the following topics respectively: Programs for Last Mile Learners, Tax Incentive Provisions of the ASP, and Proper Recording of Donations. Questions from the participants were entertained and answered afterwards. The training ended with the distribution of certificates of the participants and members of the organizing committee.
