
DASMARIÑAS CITY – Taking off from the National ICT Literacy Workshop Training of Trainers conducted on December 7-9, 2015 at Mabitac, Laguna, the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas hold the first ever Division ICT Integration and Technology Planning Seminar on July 7-9, 2016 at the Villarosa Hall, Angelo King Bldg, De La Salle Health Sciences Institute.
The three-day seminar-workshop, which is participated by more than 100 education program supervisors, district supervisors, school heads, and ICT coordinator, aims to equip all schools in crafting their respective ICT Integration Plan and update the school administrators and teachers with the latest tools and strategies in addressing the needs of the 21st century learners.
Leading the seminar are resource speakers and facilitators from top technology companies including Quipper, Kollab, Power Mac Center, and PurpleBug as well as Division Officials headed by OIC – Division Superintendent Dr. Manuela Tolentino.
On the first day of the seminar, Quipper Business Development Officer Mr. Ryan Guerrero oriented the participants on their e-learning platform. Moreover, Quipper and the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas formalized their partnership as they signed a memorandum of agreement for the Quipper School Intensive Adoption Program, which is to be implemented in all public secondary schools in the Division.
Kollab CEO Mr. Herald Uy and PurpleBug CEO Mr. Marlon Gonzales, discussed the different Google applications for teaching and the various uses of social media in education respectively. Meanwhile, PowerMac Center led a hands-on workshop on Mac Basics for the education program supervisors.
Complementing the lectures delivered by its tech partners, the Division Office spearheaded the ICT and Technology Planning among the participating schools during the first and second days of the training.

Dr. Manuela S. Tolentino delivered a talk on Tech Planning Leadership, while Education Program Supervisor for Learning Resource Management Mrs. Leylanie Adao and Education Program Supervisor for ICT Mr. Virgilio Guevarra facilitated the LAC Session. Meanwhile, Regional IT Officer Mr. Rey Valenzuela and Division IT Officer Mr. Carlou Adao team up to share updates on the DepEd Computerization Program.
On the third day of the seminar, selected ICT teachers did a demonstration teaching on Quipper, Google applications, and teaching with technology. The school heads also presented the crafted ICT Integration Plan, which is their final output from the seminar.
The training is organized by the IT Unit of the Schools Division Office with the Support of the Curriculum Implementation Division and the Schools Governance and Operations Division. It is sponsored by the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute, PLDT, and City Savings Bank.
