1. Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 10121, titled the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, all national government agencies are mandated to: a) institutionalize policies, structures, coordination mechanisms, and programs; b) spearhead the establishment of mechanisms which prepare guarantee protection; c) increase resiliency of the Department of Education constituents in the face of disaster; d) institutionalize the culture of safety at all levels; e) systematize protection of education investments; and f) ensure continued delivery of quality education services.

2. In this regard, the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas, through the SGOD-DRRM Unit, will conduct a three-day live-in training workshop for School Heads and selected SDRRM Coordinators on February 28, 29, and March 1, 2024, from 8:00 AM onwards, at First Pacific Academy, Antipolo City.

3. This activity aims to:

  • review and enhance the Contingency Plans for typhoons, earthquakes, and other disasters;
  • determine the content of a school safety plan;
  • craft a School Safety Plan; and
  • establish planning and management functions for responding partners to work in a coordinated and systematic approach.

4. This activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task. Hence, affected classes by selected SDRRM Coordinators on this training activity shall be coordinated with the school head.

5. Travel expenses to be incurred by the participants in this activity shall be charged against their respective school funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
