1. In reference to DepEd Memorandum No. 23, s. 2023 tilled National Festival of Talents, this Office announces the conduct of the Division Festival of Talents (DFOT) on June 03, 2023, Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the different venues specified in the matrix attached as Enclosure 1 to this Memorandum.
2. As provided in the Republic Act (RA) 10533, titled An Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System by Strengthening Its Curriculum and Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education, Appropriating Funds Therefore and for Other Purposes, and DepEd Order (DO) No. 021, s. 2019, titled Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education Program, consistent with the DepEd goal of producing functionally literate and holistically developed Filipinos, all NFOT events are aligned with the essential learning competencies and standards of the K to 12 curriculum. Enclosed are the contextualized mechanics of each competition and the technical
working committees.
3. As a co-curricular activity, the DFOT is a clear and proactive reinforcement of the teaching and learning process, reflecting the strong relationship between what students learnt in school and what they can accomplish and create during this activity. DFOT is also aligned with the MATATAG education agenda: TAke care of learners by supporting learner well-being, inclusive education programs, and ensuring that all learners, regardless of background, have access to excellent learning opportunities and services.
4. Participation in the 2023 DFOT is voluntary and shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and guidelines.
