1. In support of DepEd Memorandum No. 034, s. 2025, Supplemental Guidelines on the Implementation of the Literacy Remediation Program, this Division will conduct training titled The Science of Reading: Designing Contextualized Reading Intervention Materials for Key Stage 2 Literacy Development on July 23-25, 2025, at Pag Asa National High School, Victoria Reyes, Dasmarinas City, Cavite. This training aims to build teacher capacity in developing localized and evidence-based reading intervention materials. Anchored on the Science of Reading framework, the training equips educators with strategies to address literacy gaps among learners in Key Stage 2, ensuring inclusive, student-centered, and culturally relevant instruction.
2. This 3-day training will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to address reading challenges by developing and applying contextualized learning materials and strategies. It will also promote a student-centered and inclusive approach to enhance literacy, numeracy, and values among learners.
3. Participation in this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task, as well as other existing DepEd rules and guidelines. School Heads must ensure that teachers coordinate their schedules to avoid class disruptions and maintain engaged time-on-task.
4. In addition, expenses incurred relative to participation including traveling to the venues may be charged against available local funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulation.
