1. Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 49, s. 2011, titled “Mandated Programs, Projects and Activities of the Supreme Student Government (SSG)”, recognizes the Supreme School Government to implement leadership programs and activities that promote good governance, volunteerism, unity, and participatory democracy and in line with the celebration of the National Disability Rights Week (NDRW) 2025, this Division, through the School Governance and Operations Division – Learner Formation Section and the Division Federated Supreme Secondary Learner Government (DFSSLG) S.Y. 2025-2026, hereby announces the conduct of “Hands in Harmony: A Sign Language Experience” on July 14, 2025 via Zoom online platform.
2. This activity aims to promote awareness and a culture of inclusivity within and among school communities by equipping student leaders with the skills and mindset needed for the implementation of inclusive leadership. Specifically, to:
a. equip student leaders with basic sign language skills to enhance communication with learners who are deaf or hard of hearing;
b. foster a friendly and open environment that encourages camaraderie and collaboration among student leaders from different schools;
c. raise awareness of the importance of inclusive practices and respectful communication within school communities;
d. empower student leaders to become advocates of inclusivity, and diversity in their respective schools that foster a safe, respectful, and participatory school environment where all voices are heard and valued; and
e. build leadership capacities that reflect sensitivity to the needs of marginalized learners, especially those with communication challenges.
