In reference to the series of regional and national trainings conducted last October 2017 and March 2018, the Learning Resource Management and Development section of the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas conducted the roll-out of learning resource needs assessment, development, evaluation, and portal management last May 16-18, 2018 at PNTC Colleges, Dasmariñas City. The activity was participated by lead developers, lead evaluators, lead illustrators, library-in-charge, ICT coordinators, and LR coordinators.

The first session in plenary on Needs Assessment was facilitated by Ms. Leylanie Adao, Education Program Supervisor of LRMD. The participants did a world café type of activity where the groups move from one table to another to answer the question assigned to each table. They were timed two minutes to answer. Representatives from each group reported the summary of the answers per question and realized their actual needs in school.
Following sessions were conducted simultaneously at different venues. The evaluation of learning resources was carried out at the multi-purpose hall while the development of learning area materials and storybooks was held at the auditorium. Ms. Leylanie Adao discussed how to evaluate content of supplementary learning resources using the tools and indicators provided by DepEd Central office. Dr. Virgilio Guevarra presented how to develop learning area materials while Dr. Fragilyn Rafael talked about crafting story books.

Faber Castell, the official event partner of the activity, spearheaded the creativity workshops on Book Layout and Lettering and Illustration and Coloring. Cresselle Rosario from Faber Castell started the morning seminar by introducing the principles of design. She later steered drawing, lettering, and lay-outing activities. In the afternoon, Edward de Leon, marketing manager of Faber Castell, did a talk on illustration and coloring. The teacher-participants enjoyed the use of watercolor in illustration. The Copyright and Social Content was expounded by Ms. Katrezia Fiel Macawile which highlighted gender sensitivity in developing modules and story books. Basic Photography and Photoshop was demonstrated by Mr. Jeremiah Litton.

The third day of the seminar-workshop focused on the crafting of action plan in the development and evaluation of learning resources. A separate session for the ICT and LR coordinators were held at the auditorium for the LR portal management as all teachers must register in the portal and utilize the materials as needed.
Expected outputs for this three-day seminar-workshop are validated learning resources to be utilized in the division level. Training kits and materials used during workshops were sponsored by Faber Castell.
