The Department issued a Memorandum dated June 15, 2020 titled Conduct of Graduation Rites During the COVID-19 Pandemic. It stated, among others, that graduation and moving up rites that require face-to-face interaction shall be postponed until further notice. It also encourages schools and Community Learning Centers (CLCs) to conduct virtual rites and other alternative non face-to-face activities to celebrate the end of the school year.

The memorandum also requires the submission by school heads of proposed process for e-graduation (including logistics) to the Schools Division Superintendent for approval before they could conduct end of school year rights.
