This is to inform the field on the ruling on designating School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Coordinator adapted from the ruling of designating Adopt-A-School Program Coordinator issued through Unnumbered Memorandum dated August 26, 2016. Changing the coordinators within the three consecutive School Year term is not allowed as regards to the following conditions:
1. Continuity of the Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPA’s) under DRRM Programs depends on the people who has prior knowledge on it;
2. Trainings, seminars and workshops related to DRRM attended by the SDRRM coordinators should be manifested through their practice in advocating DRRM to avoid reorientation of a new designated every now and then; and
3. Transition is to be observed among the existing coordinators to the potential designate before their three-year term ends, to prepare the next designate to the tedious tasks of being an SDRRM coordinator.
Any other reasons for changing the coordinators which are not stipulated in the abovementioned conditions may send a formal letter addressed to the Schools Division Superintendent through School Governance and Operations Division and shall wait for the decision.
Immediate and widest dissemination of the Memorandum to all concerned is hereby directed.
