1. Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124 issued on November 26, 2001
titled Declaring the 3rd Week of November of Every Year as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week, this office enjoins all public elementary and secondary schools to organize activities to celebrate the occasion with this year’s theme, “People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention”. This celebration provides an avenue for the national government agencies to highlight their drug prevention activities.
2. Activities relative to this may include, but not limited to, putting up or displaying tarpaulins and banners in strategic places within the school, and integrating poster-making, slogan-making, and essay-writing contests in related learning areas. Templates may be accessed and downloaded from the DDB website at www.ddb.gov.ph. Reciting the Pledge of Commitment to Remain Drug-Free (copy attached for reference) during flag raising ceremonies on November 13, 2023 is also instructed.
3. Participation to this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and guidelines.
4. A brief narrative and pictorial report on the observance of the said event shall be submitted by School NDEP Coordinators to hnu@depeddasma.edu.ph on or before November 30, 2023.
5. Immediate and widest dissemination of and compliance with this Memorandum
is directed.
