“In Dasmariñas City, victory is a virus.” This has been proven once again by Dasmariñas City School Paper Advisers and Campus Journalists as they bagged the championship and other awards in individual and group categories in the recently concluded National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held at Dumaguete City, February 19-23.

For the School Paper Category, Anthony Acedera, SPA of Dr. Jose P. Rizal Elementary School pocketed the following awards: 4th place Feature page, 3rd place Science and Health page, 2nd place Layout and Page design and 2nd place Sports page. With these awards, his school publication was recognized as over-all champion in Best School Publication in the Philippines.

On the other hand, Pedro Bonayon Jr. of San Miguel elementary School was declared as one of the Most Outstanding School Paper Advisers in the field of Campus Journalism. Together with this award, he also won in the following categories: 1st place Feature page, 2nd place News page and 3rd place Layout and Page design, and 7th place in Best School Publication category.

Amongst the Campus Journalists who competed, John Borenz Ditan of Pintong Gubat ES won 5th place in News Writing, Kenneah March Dimacali of Salawag ES bagged 6th place in Science and Health Writing, Valerie Ocampo of San Miguel ES got the 2nd place in Copy Reading and Headline Writing and Maria Rilke Arguelles of Philippine Christian University won 4th place in Editorial column.

These achievements were made possible through the continuous effort of DepEd Dasmarinas officials and personnel: SDS Manuela S. Tolentino, ASDS Lualhati O. Cadavedo, CID Chief Lina Tibayan, SGOD Chief Emmanuel Resurreccion, Dr. Gemma G.
