November 2019 – Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 837, s.1991 titled Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as Library and Information Services Month. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts- National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCCA- NCLIS) and the National Library of the Philippines led the 2019 Library and Information Services month celebration with the theme: “Inclusive, Innovative, Interconnected.”
Public elementary and secondary schools in the City of Dasmariñas conducted various activities relevant to this celebration such as LIS month advocacy through online campaign thread with the use of #LISM2019 library awareness, literary exposure, classroom reading corner, talents’ discovery, storytelling, DEAR time, slogan/poster making contest, story reading, bookmark making contest, book drive, book character parade, film showing, students’ pick, pick a reading partner, graphic novel posters, leaders of readers, #shareabook, book fair, mini-library contest, essay writing contest and choral reading.
Through the management of school teacher-librarian/ library-in-charge and support of school heads, the 2019 Library and Information Services Month celebration was done successfully.
