Dasmariñas City – The Department of Education City Schools Division of Dasmariñas and its partners show solidarity in championing women empowerment in the 2019 National Women’s Month celebration with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women”.

In partnership with City Savings Bank, DepEd Dasmariñas held Project Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Program for Teachers, March 27. The forum, attended by 100 Division officials, school heads, and Gender and Development (GAD) coordinators, highlighted the importance of self care and breast cancer awareness not only among women but also men.
Guest oncologist Dr. Chito Abellar discussed the symptoms and diagnosis of breast cancer. He also emphasized the significance of regular check ups especially among teachers who are almost always working in stressful environments.

Dr. Lualhati O. Cadavedo, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, encouraged all attendees to value their health and make time to take care of themselves. She also acknowledged the work and contribution of women in the education sector.
Aside from the forum, DepEd Dasmariñas also organized #PurpleFridays supported by partner companies Mary Kay, Human Nature, and Mekeni Body Massage. Division Office employees were treated to free beauty and health talks, product giveaways, and massage during Fridays.

Mr. Christopher R. Diaz, Schools Division Superintendent, joined the Division personnel in their well-deserved pampering session. Also, he expressed his gratitude to the partner companies for supporting the celebration of Women’s Month and making change work for women.

The National Women’s Month celebration every March is part of the annual observance of the International Women’s Day.
