1. In support to the implementation of Integrated School Nutrition Model, a study conducted by International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) and in strong collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Agriculture (DA) and Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), there will be training-workshop on May 25 – 27, 2016; 12:00 in the afternoon at Malinta Elementary School.
2. The objective of the seminar is to integrate and link the three components of the study and utilize the following specific strategies:
a. enhance School Gardens by using bio-intensive school nutrition garden standards;
b. utilizing iron-fortified rice and indigenous vegetables from gardens during the Supplementary Feeding; and
c. strengthen the Nutrition Education for students and parents using schools as platform.
3. Participants to this training-workshop are Public Schools District Supervisors, Elementary School Heads, (1) Elementary Gulayan sa Paaralan focal person, (1) Elementary feeding coordinator, and (1) Elementary Home Economics teacher.
4. Corresponding service credit shall be given to teachers who will successfully finish the said training-workshop as per DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003.
