I. Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum 2, s. 2024, this office advocates for the
observance of the 2024 International Day of Education (IDE) on January 24,
2024, with the theme “Education in Transformative Times: Making Early Grade
Learning Contribute to Lasting Peace.”
2. In line with this, DepEd officials, Aralin Panlipunan Supervisor, school
administrators, government leaders and private sector stakeholders are encouraged to attend the in-person IDE 2024 Forum on January 24, 2024, and
the education partners-led side events on January 25-26 at the Marco Polo Hotel,
Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Meanwhile, parents, learners and the general public
are urged to watch the Facebook livestream of the said event through the DepEd
Philippines Facebook Page.
3. Further, all concerned schools division offices are enjoined to support the IDE
2024 by organizing relevant activities.
4. Participation to this activity shall observe DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring
Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and
guidelines.
5. Travel costs incurred relative to the participation in the face-to-face activity shall be charged against available local funds, subject to usual accounting and
auditing guidelines.
