1. Relative to the nationwide transport strike slated on March 06 to 12, 2023 as a sign of protest to the Government’s PUV Modernization Program, all schools in this Division including the private schools are directed to devise plans and contingencies to ensure that learning continues.

2. Options that the schools may consider include the following:

a. Conduct of asynchronous class

b. Shift to Modular Distance Learning (MDL), Online Distance Learning (ODL), home-based activities and other performance tasks

c. Providing learning instructions to students via phone calls or text massaging

3. These Alternative Delivery Modes of Instruction or learning arrangements shall be properly communicated to all teachers, learners, and parents through virtual meetings and/or issuance while external stakeholders and the general public shall also be informed through schools’ official Facebook page announcements.

4. Ensure that all learning resources like textbooks, modules, Learning Activity Sheets (LAS), and other supplementary materials are accessible to learners from March 6 to 10, 2023.

5. There must be an established monitoring mechanism on the level of engagement of school-based personnel to ensure that distance modalities provide quality learning.

6. Private schools are encouraged also to implement/utilize appropriate learning modality.

7. All School Heads are tasked to submit in this Division all plans and contingencies until Monday, March 06, 2023 before lunchtime which will be consolidated and reported to Regional Office on the same day.

8. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
