1. In consonance to Office of the Undersecretary for Operations Memorandum No. OUOPS-2024-00946 dated 05 February 2024 and Regional Memorandum No. 93, s. 2024 dated 08 February 2024, this Division, through the Division Legal Unit hereby establishes the Learner Rights and Protection Desk and the implementation of Learner Rights and Protection Guidelines in the Conduct of Sports Events.
2. The Department’s zero-tolerance policy for any act and form of child abuse mandates the constitution of Child Protection Committee in Schools as
Learner Rights and Protection Committees which will serve as playing venues and billeting quarters.
3. The LRPO, with the assistance of the Schools Division Office of Marikina City, has crafted the Learner Athletes Safeguarding Guidelines which may be used to guide duty bearers and learners alike. The link for a copy of the materials is https://bit.ly/LRPDesk for reference.
4. All reported learner-athlete concerns and the actions immediately taken thereafter shall be reported to the Learner TeleSafe Contact Center Helpline through landline at (02) 8632 1372, mobile phone number at (0945) 175 9777 or via email weprotectlearners@deped.gov.ph.
5. Furthermore, in compliance with Division Order No. 1, 2019 titled Regulating the Use of Plastic Products in Schools and Offices in the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas and Division Memorandum No. 45, 2. 2021 titled Banning of Single-Use Plastic Products in All Division and School Training and Activities, the reproduction of the Child Protection Helpline banners shall be made through tarpapels and similar environment-friendly manner.
