1. In consonance to Presidential Proclamation 115-A and Presidential Proclamation 360, s. 1986, the month of March is declared as Fire Prevention Month.

2. In line with DepEd Order No. 28, s. 2016, this Office ensures schools’ adherence to the Strengthening the Fire Safety and Awareness Program following these specific fire safety measures, among others:

a. Conduct of quarterly drills;

b. Ensure regular fire safety inspections;

c. Demand and practice good school keeping practices, i.e. unplug appliances when not in use;

d. Ensure availability and functionality of fire safety equipment, i.e. fire alarms and extinguishers; and

e. Continuous orientation and information dissemination on fire safety and prevention

3. Likewise, schools are reminded on the practices under the School Fire Safety Plan, to wit:

a. Identification of fire-related hazards;

b. Removal or reduction of such hazards; and

c. Assure the safety of all learners and school personnel following physical fire precautions and management arrangements.
