1. Pursuant to the Regional Memorandum No. 323, s. 2022 titled: Regional Virtual Workshop on Reading Intervention and Regional Virtual
Workshop on Assessment-Driven Intervention for English and Filipino, all school heads are requested to encourage the teachers to attend these
workshops.
2. The Regional Workshop on Reading Intervention is on July 13-15, 2022. Key Stage 1 teachers are highly encouraged to attend while Key Stage 2 and Stage 3 teachers may also attend. This workshop covers the following topics:
a. Reading —Nature and Process
b. Nature and Causes of Reading Difficulties
c. Emergent and Beginning Reading Skills and Development
d. Diagnosis of Reading Difficulties
e. Reading Intervention Strategies for Helping Catch-On Readers
f. Instructional Materials for Remedial Reading
3. The Regional Workshop on Assessment is on August 3-5, 2022. Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 3 teachers teaching Filipino and English are highly encouraged to attend while teachers of other subject areas may also attend. The workshop covers the following topics:
a. Approaches to Assessment Performance-Based Assessment
b. Development of Assessment Appropriate to the Learners’ Readiness and Needs
c. Portfolio Assessment
d. Competency-Based Assessment Tool
