1. This Division Office hereby furnishes the field with a copy of DepEd Order No. 33, s.2021 titled School-Based Disaster Preparedness and Response Measures for Tropical Cyclones, Flooding and Other Weather-Related Disturbances and Calamities to guide public schools in preparing for and responding to the impacts of the hazards.
2. This Memorandum further substantiates and updates DepEd Order (DO) No.83, s.2011 titled Disaster Preparedness Measures for Schools and DO No. 21, s.2015 titled Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Coordination and Information Protocol. The enclosed guidelines define what must be done by schools in order to safeguard learners, personnel, and educational investments in times of calamities and emergencies and the measures to be taken by the schools division and regional offices and the central office to enable and support the school-based measures.
