1. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 11369 titled An Act Recognizing the Observance of November 17 of Every Year as the National Students’ Day and DepEd OUA Memorandum No. 00-1120-0098 titled 2020 National Students ‘Day Celebration, this Division encouraged all the Division Office personnel, public and private teachers and school heads and all public and private school learners with internet access to participate and attend the virtual celebration of the National Students’ Day (NSD) on November 17, 2020, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
2. DepEd recognizes the observance of November 17 of every year as National Students’ Day and a commemoration of International Student’s Day, which was spearheaded by the International Student’s Council in 1941. Republic Act No. 11369 also mandates DepEd to facilitate and to encourage all the public and private schools nationwide to annually celebrate the National Students’ Day.
3. This year’s celebration with the theme, “Mag-aaral na Pilipino, Palaban sa Buhay Gamit ang Puso, Galing at Talino” aims to:
a. support exercises and activities launched by students during the observance of National Students’ Day;
b. express support and recognize the invaluable contributions of students to education; and
c. generate support and assistance for students.
