1. Pursuant to the Philippine Legislature Act No. 2946, enacted on February 16, 1921, making November 30 of each year a legal Holiday to commemorate the birth of Andres Bonifacio, the Department of Edtiaction (DepEd) shall celebrate the 156th Birth Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio on November 30, 2019.
2. In conformity with this, all public and private elementary and secondary schools are encouraged to undertake activities that highlight the qualities, achievements and contributions of Andres Bonifacio, the founder of the Katipunan and leader of the Philippine Revolution for Independence in 1896. Please be guided with the attached DepEd Memorandum OU-LAPP No. 620, s. 2019.
3. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is directed.
