1. This Memorandum reiterates the commitment of SDOs and schools in putting
up and/or maintaining an infrastructure that supports the reading skills of our
learners. It is reminded that one of the Department’s core mandates in improving
quality basic education is ensuring that there is a learning resource facility where
reading materials are available, particularly in this situation where we strive to
improve literacy.
2. Further, this Division requests your cooperation in the maintenance and
improvement of established school libraries and reading corners as it serves
multipurpose functions in LR processes and activities. It is expected that the
library/learning resource facility is able to cater to day-to-day academic needs of the learners and teachers.
3. School librarians/library-in-charge shall lead in the management of school
libraries and shall facilitate the full utilization of the DepEd Dasmariñas Integrated Library System. Hence, school librarians/library-in-charge are requested to accomplish patron registration and resource cataloguing.
4. Immediate and widest dissemination of this Memorandum is enjoined.
