1. In preparation for the 5th National Storybook Writing Competition, the CID- Learning Resource Management Section, shall conduct the Division Competition on Storybook Writing 2023 on July 18-October 06, 2023. Enclosed to this
Memorandum is the schedule of activities relative to the conduct of this competition.
2. The competition aims to appreciate the roles of stories and illustrated storybooks as a tool in reading enhancement, gather original stories that demonstrate K to 12 learning competencies, recognize talents of teaching and non-teaching personnel in storybook production, and contribute to the repository of learning resources.
3. This activity is anchored on the guidelines prescribed in DepEd Memorandum
No. 78, s. 2022 titled “Conduct of the 4th National Competition on Storybook Writing.” Hence, this competition is open to all public school teaching and non-teaching personnel in our Division in all grade levels. Attached to this Memorandum is DM 78, s. 2022 inclusive of guidelines, mechanics, and official entry forms for reference.
4. This Division grants maximum allowable service credits to official participants
pursuant to DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2005 entitled Updated Guidelines on Grant of Vacation Service Credits to Teachers. The participating teaching and non-teaching personnel shall submit to the SDS the request for grant of service credits with the necessary attachments. The approval of the number of allowable service credits remains in the discretion of the SDS as approving authority.
5. Participation to this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and guidelines. Hence, concerned teacher-members are advised to coordinate class schedules so contact time will not be affected.
6. In addition, expenses incurred relative to participation including traveling to the venues may be charged against available local funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
