1. In support of DepEd’s thrust toward curriculum localization and indigenization, this Division will conduct a live-in Training-Workshop on Storybook Writing and Illustration for Teachers: Enhancing Literacy and Creativity in the Classroom on June 25-27, 2025, at Elijah Hotel, Brgy. Salawag, Dasmarinas City, Cavite. This initiative aims to equip educators with the skills to develop culturally relevant and engaging learning materials—particularly storybooks enriched with appropriate illustrations—to enhance literacy and creativity, especially among young and visually inclined learners. Enclosed in this Memorandum is the program of activities. Final list of participants will be announced on a separate memorandum.

2. This three-day training-workshop is designed to support teachers in creating high-quality, contextualized learning resources and reading materials to address the reading difficulties of learners. By enhancing the capability to develop these resources, we aim to ensure that education remains responsive to the needs of all learners.

3. Participation to this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and guidelines. Teachers are advised to coordinate schedules to ensure non-disruption of classes.

4. In addition, expenses incurred relative to participation including traveling to the venues may be charged against available local funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulation.
