1. In line with our continuous effort to improve our services and ensure the security and efficiency of our digital infrastructure, the field is hereby informed of the following updates regarding our official website.
2. Effective June 1, 2024, the official website of the City Schools Division Office of Dasmarilias will be updated to a new domain: https://www.depeddasma.edu.ph. This change is necessitated by several critical factors, as outlined below:
a. Reasons for the Update:
i. The current website, https://depeddasma.edu.ph, operates on a backend Operating System (OS) tagged by the Linux community as End-of-Life. This means that there will be no future security updates for the server, posing a significant security risk.
ii. The server storage for the existing website is nearing its maximum capacity after 9 years of usage, which affects performance and the ability to store new data.
iii. The DepED Central Office ICTS has transitioned its cloud storage from Google Workspace to MS365 OneDrive, and most of the contents on the current website is linked to Google Drive, prompting this migration.
b. The new website will utilize the latest technology of Linux, Nginx, MySql & PHP (LEMP) stack and WordPress, providing enhanced performance and scalability. Additionally, the office is expanding storage capacity to ensure the website serves the agency effectively for more than 10 years.
