1. Pursuant to the Republic Act (RA) No. 7079, otherwise known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, this Office, through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), in partnership with the City of Dasmarinas Association of School Paper Advisers, announces the conduct of the 2026 DIVISION SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (DSPC) on September 02-04, 2026 at Sta. Cruz Elementary School.
2. The Conference aims to:
a. foster a deeper understanding among campus journalists/participants of the significance of journalism, expressed through various journalistic forms and approaches;
b. promote advocacy for social consciousness and responsible journalism;
c. provide a learning platform for learners aspiring to pursue journalism as a career;
d. encourage the ethical and responsible use of social media; and
e. enhance journalistic skills through healthy and friendly competitions.
3. This event is open to student/pupil-writers/delegates from both public and private elementary and secondary schools.
4. Submission of school publications (in PDF format) is a prerequisite for participation in the RSPC. Thus, all schools participating in the Division Schools Press Conference are required to submit their school paper or newsletter (draft will be accepted) on or before August 20, 2026, through this link: https://bit.ly/4vSTVri.
5. Each school is requested to send a complete set of participants per event. A maximum of three (3) participants per individual event both in English and Filipino category is allowed, with each participant restricted to one event only. For group events, schools are likewise required to field the complete number of members prescribed for each category.
