1. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661 or An Act Declaring the Month of November
of Every Year as the National Children’s Month, DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 titled DepEd Child Protection Policy, and in reference to the proposed activity approved by the Cavite Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC), it hereby announces the conduct of Championing Children’s Rights and Protection: An Orientation for Education Leaders on November 6, 2023 at Children and Youth Center, Maliksing Kabataan Building, Imus Pilot Elementary School, Nueno Avenue, City of Imus.
2. This activity also serves as the Division Kick-Off for the celebration of National
Children’s Month which aims to enhance school-based management, empowering
education leaders to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in
implementing plans for a rights-based education and asserting children’s rights through the dissemination of various advocacy campaigns related to Child Protection and safeguarding activities. Specifically, this activity aims to:
• provide education leaders with a comprehensive understanding of children’s rights and the role of advocacy in protecting and promoting those rights;
• raise awareness among education leaders about the UNCRC and its implications for school policies and practices;
• encourage education leaders to adopt a child- and -youth centered approach in their decision-making and leadership styles, and to prioritize the well-being and rights of learners in their schools;
• equip education leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify and address instances of children’s rights violations within their schools, including those related to bullying, discrimination, and exploitation;
