1. Pursuant to DepEd Unnumbered Memorandum, 2023 Pambansang Buwan at
Araw ng Pagbasa, this Office, through the Curriculum Implementation Division,
instructs all schools to join in the celebration of the 2023 Pambansang Buwan
ng Pagbasa (PBAP) with the theme, “PAGBASA: Pag-asa sa MATATAG na
Kinabukasan.”
2. All schools, through their Reading Task Force headed by their school heads
shall convene the team to discuss the content of the Memorandum and plan for
the activities for the whole month.
3. In accordance with Republic Act No. 10556, declaring November 27 as “Araw
ng Pagbasa,” the PBAP shall culminate with a nationwide synchronized reading
on November 28, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
4. Participation to this activity shall adhere to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 on
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring
Compliance Therewith, and strict compliance to other existing DepEd rules and
guidelines.
5. All school reading focal persons shall submit the School Report on the conduct
of the 2023 PBAP, duly signed by School Head on or before December 5, 2023
