1. In response to the current public health concerns regarding the spread of Monkeypox (MPDX), this Memorandum is issued to all educational institutions within the Division to align with the mandates and guidelines provided by the Department of Health (DOH). Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our learners, teachers, and school/office personnel remains our utmost priority.
2. Monkeypox is a contagious viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus, characterized by a rash that often starts on the face before spreading to other parts of the body. The disease is transmitted through close contact with infected individuals, animals, or contaminated materials.
Symptoms of Monkeypox include:
a. Fever
b. Headache
c. Muscle aches
d. Back pain
e. Swollen lymph nodes
f. Chills
g. Exhaustion
h. Rash that often begins on the face and spreads to other parts of the body which progresses to lesions
