1. The School Governance and Operations Division, through the Health and Nutrition Unit, enjoins all schools to participate in the Division-wide observance of the Global Handwashing Day as part of the implementation of DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2016, otherwise known as the Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program.
2. This international advocacy highlights the simple yet powerful practice of handwashing with soap and water in reducing the spread of illness and promoting overall health. With this year’s theme “Be a Handwashing Hero”, the celebration aims to inspire individuals and communities to take active steps in maintaining proper hand hygiene.
3. To mark this occasion, all public elementary and secondary schools in the Division are encouraged to organize a simultaneous handwashing activity for learners on October 15, 2025 at 9:00 AM. The activity serves as a collective expression of support for health and hygiene promotion in schools.
4. Class Advisers and School WinS Designates are requested to document the activity. Schools are also encouraged to share photos or short videos of their activities through their official DepEd Tayo Facebook pages to raise awareness and strengthen the campaign’s reach.
