1. In line with the suspension of face to face classes declared by the Provincial Government of Cavite on October 15-18, 2025, as a preventive measure to allow for intensified Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) surveillance and in preparation for possible earthquake related risks and threats associated with “The Big One”, the field is hereby informed that the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) will conduct an ocular inspection and validation of selected public schools from November 3 to 5, 2025.
2. The monitoring shall give priority to schools that require immediate attention and further technical assistance based on the results of the Comprehensive School Safety (CSS) tool, attached herewith as “Annex A”.
3. All public schools are advised to undertake the following actions:
a. Use this period as an opportunity to revisit and strengthen school-level safety protocols and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) readiness.
b. Establish or reactivate the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in accordance with the School Safety Plan and Contingency Plan. The ERT composition and functions are detailed in the DepEd Order No. 33, s. 2021, attached herewith as “Annex B”.
c. Prioritize actions based on the hazards mapped from February to April 2025, as well as findings from the CSS tool.
d. Strengthen preventive measures against Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), as indicated in the Division Memorandum No. 738,s. 2025.
