1. Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 23, s. 2011, the 1386 Birth Anniversary of Manuel Luis Quezon will be commemorated and conducted respectively on August 19,
2O16, 8:OO AM at Quezon Memorial Shrine, Quezon Memorial Circle, Elliptical Road, Quezon City.
2- However, Republic Act No. 6741 dated August 4, 1989, August 19 of each year has been declared as a working holiday for the entire nation and a special non-working holiday in the provinces of Quezon, Aurora, and Quezon City.
3. This significant date in Philippine History marks the birth of a man who became the first Commonwealth President, the Father of Philippine Independence, and Ama ng
Wikang Filipino, and considered as the greatest Filipino statesman.
4. To make this years commemoration more meaningful, all public and private schools are encouraged to carry out activities integrated in related subject areas such as Sibika at Kultura, Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sining (HEKASI), Araling Panlipunan, Values Education, Music Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPE/MAPEH), Filipino, and English during classroom discussions to highlight the qualities and achievements of President Manuel L. Quezon as President and statesman.
5. The Quezon’s Code of Citizenship and Ethics (English and Filipino versions) for the Filipino people shall be used as a learning resource for the young to re-learn the values and moral character, personal discipline, civic conscience, and the duties of citizenship as a part of the Filipino heritage. A copy of the code is enclosed.
