The Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) will be holding the National Seminar-Workshop on DepEd Policies, Legal Process and Other Teachers’ Concerns on October 1-3, 2016 at the Romulo Hall of Baguio Teachers’ Camp. With the theme “Teachers’ Empowerment through Legal Education” the seminar primarily aims to educate the teacher-leaders and school heads on their rights and responsibilities and the DepEd processes.
The specific objectives of the seminar are:
1. To equip the teacher-leaders and school heads with legal knowledge;
2. To provide them skills in resolving conflicts arising from school management;
3. To provide them with information on pertinent issues of education sector; and
4. To solicit suggestions to improve the teaching conditions of the teachers.
This initiative is a continuation of the partnership we started with the Office of the Undersecretary for Legal since year 2011. Some 200 teacher-leaders and school heads from all over the country are expected to participate this event. A minimum contribution of P2, 500.00 shall be charged to each participant to cover costs of food, accommodation, honoraria, seminar kit, souvenir items and other incidental expenses.
In this light, we would like to request your good office to endorse the official participation of teachers and school heads in the attached list. Furthermore, we would also like to request that the registration and transportation expenses be charged against SEF or any available local funds (including canteen funds).
Registration and billeting at the Romulo Hall will start at 1:00PM of the first day, October 1, 2016 (PM snacks will be served) to be followed by the opening program at 2:00PM. Check-out time will be at 12:OONN of the 3 rd day, October 3 (lunch will be served). The deadline for confirmation of participation will be on September 28, Wednesday.
