The City Schools Division of Dasmariñas joins the nation in the observance of the 2017 National Women’s celebration (NWMC) with the theme: We Make Change Work for Women from March 1-31, 2017. This is in pursuance to Presidential Proclamations No. 224, 227, and Republic Act No. 6469 declaring the first week of March as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace day, and providing for the observance of the month of March as Women’s Role in History Month
The 2017 celebration aims to:
a. inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs and services to promote citizen-centric governance and make “change” a conscious effort to know, understand, and provide what ALL citizens need;
b. create and facilitate platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and commitments in pursuing gender and development (GAD) – to strengthen implementation of the Magna Carta of Women; and
c. inspire and empower women and girls to be agents of change – to contribute in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women.
Attached in this memorandum is a series of division initiatives and weekly activities that may contribute in the achievement of the said objectives.
Likewise, schools are also encouraged to organize their own activities and other initiatives which will be supported by a two-paged Narrative Report with no more than five action photos to be submitted on April 3, 2017.
